Hooray - I'm a writer now

I haven't finished anything yet, but have several stories in progress.  One is a novel called "Back in Time" and after playing with the same couple of pages about every 20 years or so, I finally found a couple of writers' groups and now have 225 pages.  I feel so proud of myself.  And with the two groups I find the enthusiasm level stays high so that I keep writing.

Tapping (EFT) - I've signed up as an affiliate

I've found a new technique to help myself. It's called 'Tapping'. One of the sites calls it Emotional Freedom Tapping or EFT. That's Gary Craig's site - http://www.emofree.com - which I've found very helpful. He has a free e-book to get you started. Then there's another site I just found tonight called Try It on Everything. I feel so strongly about it that I've  signed up as an affiliate and put a link to the site on the blog. Hope you get as much out of the process as I am. She has a free e-book also, and that's what I'm working from right now.

Found a Really Good Sockknitter's Workshop

It's at a site called Aesthetic Entanglementz and the URL is http://aestheticentanglementz.blogspot.com/2008/07/mash-up-magic-toe-up-socks-workshop.html. The socks are called the Mash-Up magic Toe-Up Socks, and use an eye of partridge heel. I'm going to try to put a link in on the side of the page so you don't have to hunt for this post to find it again. It's a long time since I've done this, and the whole process is different now, so wish me luck 8^)

No More Catzzzz.com

My poor little business never got off the ground and I closed it down not too long after my last post.

However, I figured I'd keep the blog going - very, very sporadically - for my knitting, crocheting, and genealogy.

So far I've been able to trace back just through my grandparents. Imagine my joy when I sent out a cry for help and someone answered, saying "I think we're cousins - we're researching some of the same names." We compared notes and we ARE cousins. Better still, he had an old family tree someone had drawn in 1935, and now I can see two more generations! Oh, my! Someone throw me a fan, I'm having palpitations here - my heart's going pitty-pat because I'm so excited. This is the first time anyone has answered anything about these names!

Well, I've discovered . . .

it's not a good idea to put a project down and walk away from it for any length of time. I put my FLAK sweater down because I was getting frustrated trying to get the back started. Now I want to work on it, and I can't find my markers, my crochet hooks or anything but the yarn, the started sweater and the needles it's on. grrrrrrrrrr. I've probably put them in another bag with one of the many projects I did start (and not finish) since then.

Oh, well, guess I'll keep looking - or buy new (grin). Makes a good excuse anyway doesn't it.

On a different subject entirely, I've taken the plunge and joined a walking group that's forming here in town. They're having their first meeting Saturday, although they don't yet know where. I'm hoping to regain some of the mobility I've lost to "Arthur Itis", make some friends and lose some weight.

Will try to post on my doings a little more often, but then, I don't do much either (grin)
